4 May 2015 - Kyiv – UNDP and the Office of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights presented a comprehensive study on the status of rights of women living in the rural areas of Ukraine.
It is a great honour for me to be here, standing together with the President Poroshenko and his people of Ukraine in this very solemn and sacred place where we are honouring and commemorating many valiant and courageous Ukrainian soldiers and citizens who fought to defend their country, to defend their human dignity against the aggression of Nazism. It seems that I am hearing their ardent aspirations, their voices... ardent aspirations wishing the people of Ukraine to live in peace and harmony and preserving their sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Kyiv, Ukraine (30 April 2015) - The Government of Japan, the Government of Ukraine, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and International Organization for Migration (IOM), and the IFRC together with Ukrainian Red Cross Society expanded existing assistance programmes by launching new projects to support internally displaced people (IDPs) and boost social and economic recovery in conflict-affected areas in Eastern Ukraine.
30 April 2015 - The RPA focuses on the areas under the Ukrainian Government’s control in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, as well as the three adjoining oblasts – Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv. The RPA covers immediate recovery, rehabilitation and social cohesion needs, and is designed to be flexible so that its scope and recommendations can be updated as circumstances change.
UN Resident Coordinator in Ukraine emphasized the importance of the international conference on support to Ukraine. “It will allow the international community to see the economic and security challenges faced by Ukraine, to understand the government’s short and medium term strategy and implementation plans for key reforms. Institutional and private investors will better understand changes and improvements in Ukraine’s business environment”, - wrote Neal Walker in an opinion peace for Kyiv Post.
9 April, 2015 - UNDP in Ukraine has launched a co-financing campaign for newly created jobs for internally displaced people, coming from the Donbas and Crimea, and for the communities, residing in Donetska and Luganska oblasts. Any enterprise, organization or institution, of both public and private ownership, as well as NGOs, can apply to participate in the program.
8 April, 2015 - The “Early Recovery of Social Services and Peacebuilding in Donetsk and Lugansk Oblasts” Project will start restoration at 15 new sites in Eastern Ukrainian.
31 March 2015, Kyiv/Geneva – At least 109 children are reported to have been injured and 42 killed by landmines and unexploded ordnance in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions of eastern Ukraine since March last year, UNICEF said today.
