NADRA BANK presented social programmes at the Global Compact signatories’ meeting
NADRA Bank hosted a meeting of the Ukrainian Global Compact signatories under the regular GC network initiative “Business talks GC to business” on the topic of CSR promotion in the banking sphere. The meeting was attended by representatives of Kazakhstan businesses and award-winning journalists who took part in the contest for the best article on CSR initiated by UNDP Kazakhstan. The Kazakhstan delegation visited Ukrainian GC Network with a study tour on November 26-27, 2007.
NADRA Bank is one of the most active GC participants in Ukraine, and it was among the first signatories of the initiative joining it in April, 2006. During the meeting, The Ukrainian GC Network coordinator Ms. Elena Panova stated: “NADRA Bank was among the first to sign the Global Compact, thus declaring their serious intention to follow the universal principles of the initiative and to promote the corporate social responsibility”. Participation in the UN GC initiative allows NADRA Bank to exchange the experience in socially responsible practices with the world’s leading companies as well as creates the platform for new partnership projects and initiatives.
According to the first Vice-President of NADRA Bank, Ms. Elena Logoshnyak, corporate social responsibility is one of the most important aspects of the Bank’s strategy and mission, as NADRA Bank adheres to the responsible economic, social and ecological principles in its day to day business practices.
During the meeting, Bank’s specialists conducted presentation of the project “Promoting CSR in the banking sphere: world practice and Ukrainian experience” based on the book “CSR in the banking sphere”, earlier published by NADRA Bank. The Bank’s realization of the Global Compact principles finds its way in three main directions: an informational public campaign “CSR in the banking sphere”, charity program aimed at fighting against children mortality in Ukraine, and ecological program “Green Office” featuring a number of “green” and energy saving technologies introduced by NADRA Bank.
During the discussion that followed up the presentations, the participants of the meeting shared their opinions on the prospects of CSR development in banking sphere in Ukraine and Kazakhstan.
