More than 40 representatives of GC companies and organizations on October 29 took part in the workshop on Global Reporting Initiative, hosted by Trade Unions of Ukraine.
Participants of the seminar were able to get acquainted with the concept of sustainable development, learn how to prepare non-financial report and were introduced to the technology of integrating GC requirements into GRI reporting.
The trainer of the seminar, Ms. Teodorina Lessidrenska, well-known international expert with 10-year experience in the area of GRI stressed: “Measuring, disclosing and being accountable to internal and external stakeholders for your organisation’s environmental, social and economic impacts and performance towards the goals of sustainable development”
During seminar participants discussed current changes in the business environment and factors that contribute to the sustainability of the organization, were able to recognize difference between charity and sustainable development of the company. Also attendees were introduced to the main characteristics of GRI reporting and their connection with Communication on Progress, which is a requirement for the company that joins Global Compact. On the practical level participants of the seminar got acquainted with 5 steps for GRI report preparation, planning process and report preparation and also concrete indicators for GRI.
Seminar took place with the support of Federation of Trade Unions and the company Coca-Cola.
