Training «Implementing Green Office Principles in the Organization”

On February 26, Global Compact Network Ukraine organized the training “ Implementing Green Office Principles in the Organization” in the “green auditorium” of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.

Grееn office is the organization management philosophy that allows to reduce negative impact on environment by maximum resource and energy saving and reducing waste.
 
At the beginning of the training, Ms. Olena Maslyukivska, senior lecturer of the Ecology department of NAUKMA and lecturer of Kyiv-Mohyla Business School, told the participants why auditorium was called “green”, what materials and technologies were used for its renovation. In the theoretical part of the training participants got acquainted with the main principles of the “green office” concept and methods of its realization at procurement, resource usage and waste utilization stages.
 
After the coffee break GC Network participants worked in groups in order to practically use received theoretical knowledge. Companies’ participants formed 3 hypothetic companies-working in industrial, financial and tourism sectors, each of which was supposed to develop a strategy and action plan for implementing green office philosophy, appoint responsible persons and define necessary resources.
 
The event which was attended by more than 30 GC Network members was of big interest; its participants shared their experience and information since the training gathered not only beginners in realization of the  principles of Green office but also those who have experience and who were happy to share their achievements and talk about barriers.
 
At the end of the training participants agreed to share their practices of green office realization and at the end of the year to create a collection of case studies.
