The first meeting of the working group on development of the materials for educational course on social responsibility of business took place in UN House

This meeting gave a start to the joint project of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and Global Compact Network aiming at education of the new generation of Ukrainian business leaders and promotion of socially responsible business environment in the country.

The working group, designed to develop the curriculum for the CSR educational course for university students majoring in economic disciplines, was established by the decree of Mr. Ivan Vakarchuk, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine on May 21, 2009 at the request of the UN office in Ukraine and Global Compact initiative. The working group includes representatives of the leading universities, Ministry of Education and Science, private sector and NGO.

During the first meeting of the working group participants discussed possible options for the course title, its future positioning and the need of curriculum differentiation. Discussion resulted in establishment of a sub-group to develop list of competencies for CSR manager. The meeting also resulted in the development of step-by-step plan for development of the curriculum for educational course.

The next meeting of the working group is planned to be held in mid September.
