Regular Meeting of the Working Group on Media and CSR took place at the UN House
29 January 2010 Kyiv, Ukraine – The first meeting in 2010 of the Global Compact Working Group (WG) on Media and CSR took place at the UN House. More than twenty GC member representatives shared their perspectives on the group functioning and major activities for 2010.
On the agenda were:
- Welcome to the new WG participants
- Election of the group chairman
- WG lessons learned and 2009 results
- Discussion and approval of the 2010 WG work plan
The meeting began with a welcome to the new members. Olga Chumak was then re-elected as the 2010 Chairman of the Media and CSR Group. Participants shared lessons they had learned, heard the results of the 2009 WG activities and outlined priorities for 2010.
The meeting resulted in a new members list and blueprint for group activities in 2010. The GC Secretariat will contact WG participants by email for suggestions on the jury for a national journalist contest on CSR. Furthermore, group members must submit their ideas and perspectives for developing the work on media and CSR to the GC Secretariat by 8 February 2010.
The next meeting of the working group will be announced in due course.
