II National Contest for journalists on the best analytical material on corporate social responsibility in Ukraine

February, 10, Kyiv, Ukraine For the second year the Global Compact Initiative, with the support of the United Nations office in Ukraine, calls for participants in the contest for the best analysis of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in Ukraine.

The main purpose of the contest is to improve the coverage of CSR in the Ukrainian media, and to raise awareness of corporate citizenship.
"The UN Global Compact Secretariat was pleasantly surprised by the high participation in last year’s contest.  It has demonstrated that CSR journalism has been steadily developing in Ukraine” notes Ms. Yulia Shcherbinina, UN Public-Private Partnership Officer. “However, CSR topics are still covered in a fragmentary way. That is why the UN in Ukraine, with the support of the Global Compact Network, decided to hold the contest annually. We hope this will promote an adequate, holistic and systematic coverage of CSR issues in the Ukrainian media.”
Contest announcement – 10 February 2010
Deadline for submissions – 30 April 2010 (only materials published in printed or electronic media from 1 January until 30 April 2010 will be accepted)
Selection process:
Materials will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
 Excellent standard of journalism
 Depth of coverage on corporate social responsibility
 Competence and accuracy
 Topicality and range of illustrations 
 Use of ‘real life’ examples
 Originality – no indication of plagiarism or sign of being an ordered material
Contest winners will be awarded a trip to the Global Compact Leaders Summit which will take place in New York (USA) on 24-25 June 2010
Results of the contest will be announced no later than 18 May 2010
Requirements for entry submission:
• Scanned copy of completed  application form, on company letterhead with the signatures of both the supervisor and author
• Publication in printed and electronic media from 1 January until 30 April 2010 in the following formats:
o Printed materials – scanned in jpeg format
o Materials placed on online information resources must be in text format (.doc) and include hyperlinks to be sent as an e-mail attachment
