The UN Global Compact supports the second International Conference of Ukrainian Philanthropists Forum - "Philanthropy and Crisis: from Consumption to Action"

Kyiv, Ukraine – The forum brought together international experts and representatives from more than two hundred companies and organizations. It also included "Corporate Philanthropy: WIN-WIN Model,” a creative workshop. Corporate philanthropy programs, corporate social responsibility strategy and general business development were the most discussed topics.

Yulia Svavolya, UN system in Ukraine Coordination Analyst, welcomed participants to the creative workshops on behalf of the UN Global Compact Network. She noted that the United Nations appreciates the role that the private sector plays in addressing social and economic development issues. According to Ms. Svavolya, systemic charity helps business to rethink its relationship with society. However, "charity only truly becomes integrated into corporate social responsibility when care for society and each individual is truly embedded into the company’s strategy, and when social programs and initiatives are part of its daily activities.”

Marina Mikhailova, Director of Social Policy and Non-Financial Reporting at Renova Management AG Group of Companies (Russia), shared about the experiences of corporate social responsibility, social investment and philanthropy within the company. Lenka Ilanovska, Director of Donors Forum of Slovakia, briefed the audience about the practical implementation of corporate philanthropy within Slovak companies.
