Summer Institute for lecturers on CSR

July 10, 2010 A week long summer institute for university lecturers took place between the 4th and 10th July in Cherkasy, with support from Global Compact, and the Ministry of Education and Science in Ukraine. Titled: ‘Technology and methods of teaching the CSR course’, it was organized by the Association for Management Development and Business Education.

37 lecturers from various regions across Ukraine discussed modules on CSR syllabuses that have been recommended by the Ministry of Education this year. On the agenda included over 10 presentations form experts; five master-classes from  Global Compact members; intensive group work; and a round table discussion with local authorities and media representatives.

As a result, more than 15 universities are expected to launch a new CSR course over the 2010/2011 academic year. Participants also expressed hope that the initiated process of rapprochement and cooperation between business and academia will generate a new generation of responsible business leaders.
