Meeting of the Working Group on Media and CSR

On October 7 the meeting of the working group on media and CSR took place. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss joint initiatives of the Global Compact members vis-a-vis cooperation with media.

Among the proposals, put forward by the Working Group Chair- Ms. Alexandra Afanasieva ("Oranta" company) were partnership in conduting a survey of the employment conditions in the ukrainian media companies, organized by the Kyiv Independent Media Trade Unions and event for journalists on social reporting. Members of the Working Group shared their recommendations and ideas about the ways to make an event for journalists as effective as possible and provided feedback on the questionnaire draft, produced by the Kyiv Independent Media Trade Unions. The mentioned analysis (based on quantitative methods) is conducted for the first time in Ukraine and will provide an opportunity to bring attention to the top 10 best media companies, that provide good quality employment conditions and thus demonstrate corporate social responsibility in action.
