19 June, Kyiv, in President Hotel Kyiv United Nations in Ukraine organized a training workshop on Non-financial Reporting for the Ukrainian Global Compact members. The training was conducted by Ms. Elena Topoleva and Mr. Andrey Topolev, international experts with extense experience in consulting companies in Russia and abroad on non-financial reporting. Throughout the world, the issue of non-financial reporting on economic, environmental, and social performance is becoming increasingly important for companies, and Ukraine is not an exception. The customers, governments, CSO, and investors are calling companies for more transparency, accountability and understanding of their impact on social development and environmental impact. The workshop provided the participants with an overall view of the development of non-financial reporting internationally and with information on the existing reporting initiatives such as Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and Accountability 1000. A special focus of the workshop was put on Communication on Progress (COP) reporting as this is one of the explicit commitments that a company makes when it participates in the Global Compact.
