What is your company’s involvement with the Community? For over 35 years, Intel Corporation has developed technology enabling the computer and Internet revolution that has changed the world. To help students develop the 21st century skills they need to succeed in today’s economy, the Intel® Education initiative www.intel.com/education provides free professional development programs to elementary and secondary school educators. In Ukraine there are efficient three educational programs: Intel® Teach, Intel® Learn & Intel® ISEF: Intel® Teach Program is a professional development program that helps classroom teachers effectively integrate technology to enhance student learning. The program goal is to train teachers in project-based learning, inquiry & problem based learning, as well as in ICT. Intel provides trainings, master classes, forums and seminars, webresourses for teachers. Intel® Learn Program is a community-based program designed to help learners (8–16 years) develop 21st century skills: technological literacy, problem solving and collaboration. Intel® ISEF Program – Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.
What is your company’s involvement with the environment? Having launched the «Intel Eco-Ukraine» science fair for high school students in 2005 on the base of the National Ecology and Nature Center, Intel is raising students’ awareness in efficient use of natural resources and other environmental issues. Ukrainian students have won several top awards. We do our best developing new talents and their scientific research skills. We will highly appreciate co-sponsorship to support young scientists in Ukraine.
What does your company do at workplace in the frame of corporate social responsibility? Intel is committed to develop people through simple mechanisms: work/life balance, personal development and education. Intel is committed to providing tools and working environment solutions to maintain work/life balance. Intel employees can learn and apply new skills at Intel University, an internal training organization offering over 7,000 career development courses. Here employees can choose from a wide range of courses taught in a classroom setting or online, ranging from developing new management skills to strengthening culture and values to enhancing personal organization. On average, an Intel employee participates in six different courses each year. Employees may be eligible for financial assistance for work-related courses and/or degrees outside Intel. Career growth is always encouraged and employees are given opportunities to challenge themselves.
What is your company’s practice of business ethics? At Intel, corporate responsibility means doing what is right. In order to guide employees to make the best possible decisions, Intel has created the Corporate Business Principles (CBPs). Although they are not a detailed manual for resolving every question or conflict, the Corporate Business Principles have been designed to provide useful guidance about the way employees are to do business every day. In addition to Intel’s CBP, the Company has also adopted a set of principles for responsible business. These principles define a minimum set of ethical standards for all employees and are meant to reflect cultural differences in international locations. We are committed both to continuous improvement in our performance and to sharing the knowledge that we gain with our employees, customers, suppliers, communities in which we live and work, the scientific community, government and industry.
