| What is your company’s involvement with the Community? |
According to UMC 2007 survey one of the main aspects of CS R for the community is quality of service. UMC pays special attention to the quality of products, services and management. Long-term social projects in education, health care, aid for children and environment are of special focus for UMC. Here are some examples: project «Mobile conference of doctors» involved providing children traumatologists in 13 regions of Ukraine with mobile connection for taking urgent decisions in defining diagnosis and the scheme for treatment. Series of books «Library of World Best Sellers from UMC» presents books of international experts in management and marketing communication, which have never been translated into Ukrainian. Program «Future Professionals» – is the first national program for involving students into research in the sphere of telecommunications. The program covers 8 specialized universities. School of qualitative journalism – is a series of trainings for regional journalists. The program started in 2007. It is planned that almost 100 regional journalists will take part in the trainings. UMC help to the community is both material and non-material, for instance, special tariff for people with hearing disability «SMS tariff», donating computers to schools and universities, publishing books. |

| What is your company’s involvement with the environment? |
In 2007 UMC Joined UN Global Compact which proves the fact that the operator adheres to the principles of environment protection. In the UMC Code of Ethical Conduct there is a chapter «on environment» where it is stated that «we try to reduce negative influence of our activities on the environment. Employees have to know and comply with the rules for environment protection, related to their job and also report to the management about possible or existing problems in regard to environment protection». Since 2004 the system of electronic document circulation has been introduced, which allows to reduce consumption of paper by UMC employees. All the equipment, used by UMC in its work is certified. UMC also conducts work on raising awareness among employees in terms of basic stations safety on the basis of the data provided by 25 European surveys. |

| What does your company do at workplace in the
frame of corporate social responsibility? |
UMC is the best employer of Ukraine (due to the rating «Delovoy» Magazine, 2005). According to the survey, conducted by Ernst&Young in the fall of 2006, UMC was rated as the most attractive employer for the Ukrainian students among all the telecommunication companies of Ukraine. UMC constantly invests in its human resources. Average employee has 40 hours of training per year. UMC social package includes salary and compensation package (bonuses, medical insurance, special mobile package for employees and their families). Annual leave is 31 days (it is 24 in Ukrainian labor legislation). In terms of compensation and social guarantees, bonuses, UMC is in compliance with Ukrainian legislation and does all the payments on the legal basis. The result of such a loyal attitude of the company to its employees is data received from anonymous survey conducted by Hudson company in September 2006. 97.3% of employees are proud to be working with UMC, 91.8% would recommend UMC as an employer to their friends. 72.92% of staff members took part in the survey. |

| What is your company’s practice of business ethics? |
Mobile operator UMC has established the system of 7 values that guide the work of the company «Our values». First of all, this is the value of ethical behavior. There are two codes of Ethics in the company-the code for UMC management and the code for employees. The results of company activity prove implementation of the principles of the company business ethics. |
